I'm just in the middle of a field that we call Daffodil Field and this time of year is the reason why it's called Daffodil Field. I've just been walking around the field, it's the first time I've seen all the daffodils but there are quite literally thousands and thousands of daffodils in this field. Some there are big swathes of daffodils, others just little clumps but it's just yellow as far as the eye can see and there aren't any, well there are sheep in here, there aren't any of the original sheep, the lambs from January and their mums. They were in here for a while after they'd arrived and they spent a bit of time in the orchard and got settled with their mums and then they came here because there's lots of good grass but because of all the daffodils and I would imagine if you ate a lot of daffodils it might not do you any good, they're now in another field and it also preserves the daffodils. It would be a shame if all the sheep just ate all these daffodils, it's really quite stunning.
There are eight grey-faced dartmoors in here at the minute and four of them are just still having their little siesta and the other four are just, well one of them's lay down again, the other three are having some breakfast. These are not in lamb this year, they were in lamb last year because Phil acquired them in lamb and yeah grey-faced dartmoor lambs are just so very cute, like little teddy bears and I thought they were just delightful and very beautiful, very sweet and I helped deliver a few of those and looked after them last year and I've got some really nice photographs of these lovely lambs but yeah these haven't been tucked this time so that's why they're all in here and they're big and woolly and fluffy and yeah but quite shy.
So I thought I would come down this morning because it's the first time I've seen Daffodil Field with all the daffodils in. Last year I wanted to come but I just didn't manage it, work commitments and timings and I missed the whole thing but it's a stunning morning, it's quite warm, it's sunny, blue skies and I've got a 360 degree view of the fields around here. I'm being attacked by flies as well. I can see horses, I can see different farms, some fields that have sort of been ploughed, I'm not sure what they are. I think I can see a church in the distance, yes I can see it is a church. Where will that be? Probably the next village along but yeah it's a beautiful spot and also it's quite high up so you've got a really good view of what's around but just a beautiful day today and these sheep having a whale of a time, all this grass to themselves, all this space, yeah just absolutely perfect.
So this is the joy of voice notes for me, I can just stand somewhere like this and I can waffle on and get attacked by flies. I don't know why there's so many flies this morning but yeah I can just stand here and capture whatever's going on and don't have to think too much about it and then I can share it or do something with it with AI, yeah amazing. So I think I'm just going to have a look over there near the trees, I think there's another clump of daffodils and make sure that I've explored everywhere and then I'm going to the farm nearby that sells milk and I'm going to buy some milk from their milk bot. So yeah that's it and I'm sure I'll get lots of other things done today but those are my immediate things to do.
So I hope wherever you are that the day is as beautiful as it is here and as they always say get out, look at the sun's sky, if you do nothing else just have a minute and look at the sky wherever you are and if you can see trees and grass and green just spend a few minutes. Thanks for watching.
